On the morning of April 15, 2009, “Exquisite Elegance”---the exhibition of figure paintings by Leung Kit Wah was held at Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University. Those present at the opening ceremony and who visited the exhibition were Dr. Leung Kit Wah, chairwoman of the Tsinghua University Education Foundation (HKSAR) Limited, General Zhou Keyu, former commissar of the General Logistics Department under the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, Ms. Zhu Lilan, former Minister of Science and Technology of China, Mr. Tian Zengpei, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Ms. Wei Yu, former Deputy Minister of Education of China, Mr. Cheng Jinpei, former Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of China, Mr. Duan Ruichun, secretary-general of the Selection Board of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation for the HLHL Prize, Mr. Cai Fangbo, former Chinese ambassador to France, Major General Miao Shuchun, senior consultant from China Institute for International Strategic Studies (CIISS), Ms. Wang Shichang, veteran Eighth Route Army soldier and retired cadre from the State-owned Assets Supervision and Management Commission of the State Council, Mr. Zhan Jianjun, chairman of China Oil Painting Society, Mr. Yin Zilie, president of China Medical Foundation, Mr. Zhou Haiying, committee member of the National People’s Political Consultative Conference, Mr. Liu Yushan, former director of People’s Fine Arts Publishing House, Mr. Ye Yuzhong, former vice president of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, Mr. Gu Binglin, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of Tsinghua University, Mr. Wang Dazhong, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and former president of Tsinghua University, Prof. Fang Huijian, former secretary of the Party Committee of Tsinghua University, Prof. He Yingmei, former secretary of the Party Committee of Tsinghua University, Prof. Sun Jiming, former vice president of Tsinghua University, Prof. Zheng Yankang, former vice president of Tsinghua University, and Prof. Tao Sen, former vice chairman of the School Affairs Committee of Tsinghua University, etc. Also present at the opening ceremony were comrades in charge from related State ministries and commissions, persons in charge or representatives from social organizations, famous scholars and painters and honored guests from various fields invited by the Organizing Committee.
CAS academician Mr. Gu Binglin delivered an opening address for the art exhibition. He praised Ms. Leung Kit Wah for her devotion to charity and her benefit to her native place, expressed gratitude to her for her support of the educational undertakings of Tsinghua University and wished complete success for the exhibition.
The opening ceremony of the art exhibition was presided over by Prof. Li Dangqi, secretary of the Party Committee of Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University.
On the afternoon of April 15, Leung Kit Wah and her party visited Jiehua (Kit Wah) Kindergarten of Tsinghua University.
